Hand Knotting
Individual knots are tied onto the foundation, creating dense, repairable, long-lasting rugs. Premium pieces can take several weeks depending on size and knot count.
Crafting Legacies
Woven with threads of tradition, innovation, and generational artistry.
"A rug is not decoration. It is the ground beneath every conversation, every barefoot morning, every memory made low to the floor."
Our Philosophy
Studio Kaleen began with a simple belief: the most intimate object in a room is often the one underfoot. A handmade rug holds sound, movement, sunlight, and memory.
We work with artisans across Bhadohi, Jaipur, Varanasi, and surrounding weaving communities to keep traditional construction visible in modern homes.
Our static catalog currently uses placeholder photography while the brand prepares its own product shoots, but the product architecture is ready for the real collection.
Founder Story
Studio Kaleen's founder story will be finalized with the client's real background, education, city, and inspiration. For now, this section establishes the narrative space: a design-led rug house born from Indian craft, slow interiors, and the desire to make heirloom pieces accessible to thoughtful homes.
"We do not want rugs to feel precious from a distance. We want them to be lived with."
Production Techniques
Individual knots are tied onto the foundation, creating dense, repairable, long-lasting rugs. Premium pieces can take several weeks depending on size and knot count.
Yarn is guided through a stretched canvas to create rich pile and sculptural texture faster than hand knotting, while preserving handmade character.
Warp and weft are interlaced without pile, producing lightweight, reversible, durable rugs suited to busy rooms.
Low pile is sleek and practical, medium pile balances softness and maintenance, and high pile creates plush comfort for quieter spaces.
Fair wages, generational craft, and regional expertise are the foundation of the Studio Kaleen supply chain.
